it's refreshed like the cooling waters,
I'm excited about our reconnection
thinking back to the times when our unity was more than broken
I had to give you your space
keeping my distance, I would think of you often
not wanting to let anyone see me sweat
I didn't talk about you much, nor did I seem concerned with your new personal life
but deep inside, I was hurting
only wanting to be the girl that you do anything with
wanting you to always be there for me
never wanting to share the spotlight, I'm glad that the time did us justice
now, we have something to look forward to
leaving the past in the past, I'm thinking optimistic about us
for we are not just getting back together, but making our bond stronger
our love is rejuvenated, never to go back to what it was, but to be made better

Loved this poem! I thought you had great syntax and the use of a simile in the first line was high effective in relation to the title. It flowed well.. trochees and iambs did you justice. The lines breaks were my favorite.. One after broken and then the other after space, symbolizing "broken space". The only thing I would like to see is maybe giving the reader a glimpse at the disconnection or what caused the need for rejuvenation. Great job though!
